Skye Pearson
Skye Pearson is a graduate from the University of the West of England with a degree in photography. While at university she has explored serveral mediums including but not limited to stills, moving image, animation and relief print-making. During her studies, Pearson has found an interest in Expressionism & Surrealism, she finds herself aligning with the values of these movements due to the exploration of the subconious and complex mind. Dream-like logic allows for freedom over realism & rationality, releasing intiative & imaginate storytelling. The empathsis on emotion over acuracity allows for an honest way of narrative building.
These work together to encorage to follow intincts, embrace experimentation, use inner expereinces and apply them to to external forms.
While studying at the University of the West of England (UWE), she focused on moving image as a primary tool for storytelling. Skye has participated in several exhibitions both within and outside the university. In particular when she co-curated and organised 'Human Nature', an exhibition in collaboration with Serchia Gallery. Her work has also been featured in various UWE group shows, including 'Rifts', 'Komorebi', 'Veiled' and UWE based magazines such as 'YUMPF'.
Another big part of Skye's practise is collaboration within and across different courses at the university and outside the university. Collaborating with set designers, photographers, sound designers and fine artists.
